Why go through the exercise of creating videos? Is it to gain new website visitors, customers, back links and / or demonstrate your product / service? Whatever your reason, you want to give the impression that you are serious and an expert in your field. (OK, you may want to use humor in the video, so being an expert is the minimum). Here's a mini list of tips to improve your "Video first impression."
An Introduction Professional
We often shoot video from the hip and sometimes a script is planned in advance and get the necessary shots and assemble. Either way if you create a well-produced intro and use it in a series of videos, your videos will be packaged as a professional TV show!
The soundtrack
A good general introduction, is a memorable mood theme setting. Each show has a good intro extro own video clip that appears in each episode. It could be music, sound effects and / or narration.
Music – What is the score?
His music has to be legal, ie it must have the right to use it. There are basically four options for this:
1 – Compose your own music. (Knowledge and skills required, as well as, time)
2 – Buy music from a royalty-free service. The lower cost, but others can use this music in their productions. You are buying a license to use, no, all property out. (Just type "Buy royalty free music" in Google)
3 – Get someone to compose a musical piece for you. There are many home studio songwriters out there who would love to create a musical theme. However, the price and rights should be addressed so that both parties know what to expect.
4 – Make arrangements to pay for the rights of a popular song. Want to use a Coldplay song or a movie … How big is your bank account? And how many lawyers can meet for lunch?
In most cases the free form of rights is the way forward.
Sound Effects – Remember Me hear that
Sound effects can add tension, create excitement and leave your audience with an "are you there" feeling. There many free sound effects library on the Internet. Again, just type in Google and you'll get many options of places where you make SFX. You can also create their own special effects, and burn either hard disk or burn any device. For the record, creating live sound effects in sync with the video is called Foley. People who do this are so called "Foley Artists"
What's that you say … The story?
Using a script and keeping the visual elements of its introduction in mind, you may want to:
1) Say the name of the series
2) Read a brief dialogue to configure the program
3) Use the narrative of some of the video clips you choose to use in the introductory video clip.
If you decide to record a narration to be sure the microphone close enough and enough room so you can get a good recording, clear your narrative.
Note: If you find this difficult, there are many more artists who seek to voice narrations (Ummm. .. for a price …)
In Part 2 let's talk about the visuals.
